This acrylic painting was inspired by a mathematical equation called the Mandelbrot Set.
The Mandelbrot set is a specific mathematical set of points, whose boundary generates a distinctive and easily recognizable two-dimensional fractal shape. Images of the Mandelbrot set display an elaborate boundary that reveals progressively ever-smaller detail at increasing magnifications. The set's boundary also incorporates smaller versions of the main shape, so the fractal property of self-similarity applies to the whole set, and not just to its parts. I tried to replicate this repeating fractal design throughout the painting.
