„Racing the Wind“

Über dieses Bild:

Thousands and thousands of years ago, animals of great skill and power challenged the very universe in which they lived. They sought to prove their prowess in Olympic -like games where their opponents were no less than the tallest of ocean waves, the hot fiery intensity of the sun's rays, or perhaps the wind with all its speed and fury.
................................... The most exotic of all the contestants was the leader of the stallions. He was larger in breadth and width than any other horse in the world - and beautiful besides. He challenged the wind to a race.
................................................Though the stallion was certainly muscular and powerful beyond measure, the wind was a clever fellow. He accepted the stallion's challenge and agreed to a race - only if he could choose the direction in which they would run. On the day of the race, the wind announced that they would run in OPPOSITE directions!
................................................
The wind began to inhale and exhale, building speed with each rotation. Because they were to run in opposite directions, this meant the stallion would have to run INTO the wind. The great horse lowered his head, snout forward and eyes barely open against the force of the blowing current. Across the sky, they went.
................................................The wind set itself firmly against the stallion's massive chest, forcing him backward. The wind laughed, so pleased that his plan was working. And when it became apparent that the wind would become the stallion's master, the tiniest breath of wind streaked the stallion's neck with a bevvy of colors from blue to red. It was a sign to future generations that the wind would never concede to second place. Even today, the power of the wind is unrivaled. It can bend a building or uproot a tree. It is to be respected.Just ask the mighty stallion.
................................................ This painting was created with mixed media, meaning that the artist used paints, pen and ink, highlights, and other artists' tools for variety and definition. The result is a powerful art piece that is as symbolic as it is beautiful.
