„Stack of Design Books“

This colorful piece was painted with gouache on a golden acrylic background. I drip the paint, dabbing it up in some sections and adding washes to others. I let the paint run off of the edges and drip through the illustrated type. I use sprayable fixative to hold the each layer of paint in place. I build layer upon layer to create a rich finished piece full of textural depth and to achieve a complex color palate.

The crumpled post-it-notes shoved in the books give them a bit of extra personality. This depiction of popular design books would make a great addition to any study or studio, or anywhere really.
