I visited McClelland Sculpture Park in Skye, Melbourne. Australia.
Wandering around the park I saw this large metal sculpture / statue and was instantly drawn to its pose. The hands over the head were a strong statement to me and an image was forming in my head.
This could be counted as a personal piece, reflecting darker parts of my life. I am sure many out there can relate to what torment feels like, be it physical, psychological or emotional. It’s a place we come back from and learn a new level of appreciation for life and all around us. That’s what this piece is about. A reflection on what that time was and all I have learned from it.
