I paint since having been able to grasp a pencil, which means, as from the age of 3 or 4.
I remember one scene with my grandpa very well when I was about 3 or 4. He showed me, how to draw a horse pretty easily. I always liked horses. They are as gracil and noble as they are brawny and powerful. Horses do have a gorgeous "Body Landscape", strong and beautiful. When I was a child, I exclusively painted animals, like cats, dogs, birds, etc., but predominantly horses.
What's inspiring me nowadays to paint nudes? Well, the human anatomy is per se attractive! The human body is as vulnerable as powerful.
Thus my paintings are not more and not less than just the expression of my sense of aesthetics (as I see it). Of course my pictures also often express my sentiments by the choice of motive and colour.
Last but not least there is also always the challenge for me to find out whether I'd be capable to paint a certain theme - purely technically.
