The artist, Maurizio Castagna, was born in Italy in 1979. Having successfully illustrated many children’s books with various publishers, Maurizio, in 2005, began his research art. This art form lead in 2009 to the creation of his artistic group which became known as “Discarded”.
“Discarded” encourages confrontation of great social impacting issues in several European countries as well as in the United States. It is capable of drawing a great deal of attention among people and within the media. This being due to the artist’s controversial media exhibits which often times display homeless subjects resulting in excited discussion of social problems.
Since 2011, the artist, Maurizio, combines the effort of the art group, “Discarded”, with that of a skillfull sketch illustrator very successfully.
