The Côte d'Azur or as in English well known as the French Riviera is the Mediterranean coastline of France. Although there is no official borderline the Côte d'Azur is said to begin in the east in Menton at the borderline of Italy and to end in the west of France, in Saint Tropez. The coastline received its name when the writer Stéphan Liégeard replaced in one of his books the azure blue color of the water for the gold in Côte d'Or.
The Côte d'Azur became one of the first modern and most popular resort areas in the 18th century. Since then many public figures and later on many intellectual personalities like the artists Pablo Picasso or Henri Matisse frequented the region. Saint Tropez is as well the birthplace of Brigitte Bardot, one of the best-known sex-symbols of the 1960s. While Nizza is the capital of the region, the world best-known city of the Côte d'Azur is Cannes as it becomes to the center of the film-industry every year for two weeks. A poster of this region brings glamor and luxury into your room.
With 300 days of sunshine per year and a 120 km long sand and shingle beach the Côte d'Azur provides best conditions for magnificent images that might be the perfect item for your room not only as a poster, but also as an art print, canvas print or photo poster.
