Ever since I can remember George Orwell's 1984 was one of my most favourite books. No one else had given us such a precisely defined imagination of future and the risks it contains.
Though the real political and social evolution in the western hemisphere is not in an exactly line with George's visions a number of them already come true - not to mention countries like North Korea. And the possibility to construct anew a totalitarian dictatorship will not disappear as long as the human race does not understand.
It needed several months to arrange this work and at last we shot for 16 hours on different places and in the studio, too. So I want to say very special thanks to the whole crew as there were Coco de Mer (Julia) again, for her versatility, patience and anticipation. And I want to give special thanks to Kasper (Winston), Tom (O'Brien) and Reinhard (The Big Brother) for their fanciful role playing and to Mino for his brilliant assistance again; last but not least special thanks to Meike Rehfisch from the Bochum University of Taxidermy, Germany who provided the taxidermied rat - and to my wife Andrea for her back-up and being.
