This is based off of a oil pastel drawing I did while participating in a lead meditation designed to help one connect with the spirit. The idea was to connect to the divine through art and poetry. It was a lot of fun, and I look forward to doing something like that again soon.
Anyway, I really liked the overall feel of the drawing, but didn't feel that it was a complete or professional piece---I don't use oil pastels very often, so it was rather rough and juvenile looking---so I decided to recreate it with watercolor. This is the result.
It's mostly abstract, but there are some little treasures hiding in there, such as some butterflies, dragonflies, fleur de lis, lotus and stars, and various other flowers and foliage.
