Description:

A dramatic January day on the River Wharfe in the Yorkshire Dales National Park in the North of England.

Not the warmest of places at the best of time, the Dales are particulary inhospitable for walking in January. When the whole park isn’t covered by snow, the bitter winds and rain of Northern England often lash the landscape, chapping lips and turning earns and noses red.

Despite that the scenery is at it’s best in the dramatic light of a late winter afternoon.
