„Earthling“

It was very cold when I visited Paris last winter. The trees were bare of leafs, and even though the weather was shiny, the low temperature gave everything a grey look. While passing by some urban youngsters who were playing on their skateboards, I sensed a joyous feeling rushing through my body. I portrayed them and turned this sensation into a painting. The painting therefore is an expression of something I felt and experienced. A sense of colour in a colourless world. That's why the background is black and white, and the person has colours running through his or her body.
