A copy of the Luther-translated Bible lies open to the New Testament on a coars e wooden table in a dimly-lit, sparsely-furnished room. A single window throws light on a few small pic- tures of Luther hanging on a wall. It was in this r oom that Luther translated the New Testa- ment from Greek to German when he hid at the c astle following the Diet of Worms. Copyright: National Geographic / James L. Amos
