Tibetan Buddhist prayer flags fly from a monument at Annapurna South Base Camp (ABC, at 13,550 feet elevation) in the Annapurna Sanctuary, Nepal. Machhapuchhre (or Machhapuchhare), the Fish Tail Mountain (6997 meters or 22,943 feet elevation) is a sacred peak, illegal to climb, in the Annapurna mountains, part of the Himalaya range. Fog covered the peak until last minute sunbeams broke through clouds for a memorable sunset.
