This photo was taken the day after the Washington DC Cherry Blossom Festival. The trees were a gift from Mayor Yukio Ozaki of Tokyo city to the city of Washington on March 27th 1912 as a way to enhance the growing friendship between the two nations.

Das Foto wurde am Tag nach dem Kirschblüten Festival in Washington DC aufgenommen. Die Bäume waren ein Geschenk von Mayor Yukio Ozaki von Tokio an Washington am 27 März 1912 als ein Zeichen der Freundschaft zwischen den beiden Ländern.
