The Condong sugar mill, near Murwillumbah on the north coast of NSW, Australia, is one of the first in the state to have an electricity co-generation plant incorporated into it. So it now generates electricity which is fed back into the grid while it is refining the sugar cane.
I was out photographing a comet & stars in Feb 2009 and caught sight of this magnificent steam plume in my rear vision mirror as I was driving home abut 4am.
