The Russian Gun is one of many cannons brought back as trophies by the victorious British Army at the end of the Crimean War (1854-56). The top of the barrel of the gun is embossed with the double-headed eagle emblem of the Russian Tzar.
This fine example can be found within the riverside fortifications flanking the River Tweed on the section of the defences known as Fisher’s Fort in Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland, England.
