This piece began as an attempt to create a graphic style to 'mummify' text, but quickly began to inspire me to further expand on the Egyptian lore front and so it slowly began to grew more and more elaborate, in the end representing the inner sanctum of a pharaoh's tomb.
The sprawled hieroglyphics [from left to right, going downward] reading 'And Death Shall Have No Dominion', a reference to the Egyptian belief of the afterlife, as well as my own thoughts on the cycle of life and death in this world.
This is also one of my largest illustrations to date!
