„Young Rhesus Macaque - Paintover Effect“

from the gallery of serenityphotography
Description:

A digital hand paintover effect applied to my photograph of a young Rhesus Macaque Monkey taken in India.

Whether it's the influence of the Tibetan monks chanting in their gompas, or the fresh mountain air, the Rhesus Macaque monkeys around the Indian town of Dharamsala are unusually relaxed. They certainly have no problems finding food, as many of the Tibetans in exile who live in the Himachal Pradesh town (also home to the Dalai Lama) leave scraps out for them. This cheeky young ape has his cheeks jammed with leftovers that have been laid out for him at the side of the road.
