Davor Horvat is now following Daniel Zrno

My name is Daniel Zrno, and I was born in the year 1980 in Rijeka, Croatia. However, I spent most of my life in Velika Gorica and Zagreb, also in Croatia.

I had my first encounter with photography at the age of 8, thanks to my father who was interested in photography and gave me a small film camera to experiment with. That's when it all started.

Today, photography is both a love and a challenge for me, and interests me in virtually all its forms - from nature and landscapes, over portraits, street photography, to covering of various events.

Have a look through the galleries, and you'll have an idea of how I see the World.

Cheers! :)

Mrežnica river covered with fog in city of Duga Resa, Croatia. In a season without swimmers, even on this part of the river, flowing throe dense populated urban area, there is noticeable amount of animal and aquatic life. Something that this river is very rich of.

This is an image, actually to be more precise, reproduction of the imprint of the very dusty pigeon, which one day decided to slam into a big dark glass wall of the studio I work in.  All that was needed afterwards, to make this odd and interesting photo, was a big piece of black cloth behind the glass, and big piece of black cloth behind my back, and one bordeaux  colour hoodie  t-shirt  to get this colour variation around the imprint itself. And off course a good radial polarizing filter to get rid of the most of the reflections in glass. Fortune of mine that it was rather cloudy day so my Olympus e510 that I carried with me made possible to me to take few hand-held shots using its sensor stabilization feature. Photoshop editing consists only of photo merging of several shots taken, levelling and saturating the photo to get the most contrast and some colour out of it, and some darkening and burning  of the details still viewable in the glass that were more of the distraction then of use in the photo. The title of the photo is “The Holy Ghost” , and I dedicate it to the dusty pigeon that slammed into glass, and in that way becoming the co-author of this photo. Oh yeah! The pigeon was not to be seen around the glass afterwards, so I guess he flew away in good condition but rather confused!

White bird sitting on the top of the symbol of the Christian faith, the cross, strongly simbolyses the presence of the holy trinity in the symbol of the Holy Ghost.

One burned out candle in old cemetery reminds us again of the fact that we all extinguish slowly toward our end.
