More than once we’ve read or heard that the light is a very important part of photography, I must admit that I also think it is, but in every picture I make, every moment I capture with my lens I try that it has as many ingredients that we can forget that it’s the light which draws the picture, to reach a smile, a tear or an exclamation, sonorous or voiceless, and when we go back to the photography we can see how effectively in every assimilated feature there is the needed amount of light.
How did I begin? Probably I began in this long before I knew myself, it’s quite possible that photography already was a part of my conception of the world before clicking for the first time, and then everything come by there own, as the water follows the course of the river, it isn’t necessary to tell how or where, it moves on, and that way photography made the same with me, I never found the need or the obligation to learn from others what I thought I could discover by myself, see and experiment, wanting to find myself in every shot, that’s what moves me, recognize myself en what I make, doing something authentic in the difficulty of a world where there is so much done, but so much to do, in every shot we can try to reach it.
I find in black and white the most solvents ends to discover a world of contrasts, and I experiment in the colour a cloudy unreality between the most wide ranges of tones within our reach, in the difficult balance between both I’m lost in the hours of processing. Long before this it’s the beginning of what we now represent….. The light.

Natalie Nicklin is a multi-discipline artist/designer who utilizes a wide range of processes within her work; from found images and photography to modern digital techniques and screen-printing. Her work has been featured in the 2010 Creative Review Illustration Annual and IdN book The New Twenties.
Her work resembles a retroactive futurologist excavating the remains of a culture and society that never came to be. She says; “Somewhere there’s a parallel universe made up of all our previously imagined technopias. I’d like to think my work reflects that place.”
I've started photography in the end of 2009, today, this is my second life... I've recently been classed in the top 20 photographers of the french Nikon club, and I'm trying to sell photos hoping you will appreciate my visions. I'm not looking forward to making money to get "rich", I have a job, but to invest right away in photographic equipment, so that I can always and always go over me... for you...

I am an American (Texan to be even more specific...Howdy!) artist, illustrator, make believer and story teller. Armed with an overly active imagination, a healthy dose of creativity, a business degree (which in no way helps me in my artistic endeavors) and self-taught skills learned through trial and error, my work is whimsical, delicate, surreal and strange. Drawing inspiration from crowded cities, fairy tales and bygone years, I strive to transport viewers to foreign lands that still feel oddly like home. My personal artworks have found homes with collectors from all over the world and my illustration clients stretch from the music industry to magazines.
