Gerry Walden

I am a freelance photographer based in southern England.

My work has been widely exhibited in one-man shows across Europe and in the United States, including the prestigious Royal Photographic Society gallery, and has been widely featured in publications worldwide.

The majority of my images are available for reproduction - if you have a particular request then please search my website at www.gwpics.com and I will make the image available here if possible.

Black & white imagery has always been a photographic genre close to my heart, and I am very fond of the imagery of the great European masters such as Doissneau, Ronis and Cartier-Bresson. I hope my images emulate a little of their mastery and that you will find something of interest amongst them.

  • England and the English

    (8 pictures) show all pictures

England is my home, my place of birth, and I have tried as time progresses to capture the beauty, the ugliness and the idiosyncrasies of this small island off the coast of Europe.

Living in the south of England I am surrounded by beautiful gardens and stately homes. Therefore the enjoyment of capturing that beauty in photography has always been near to my heart. My father was a gardener and maybe his love has rubbed off on me, although I enrapture the results of gardeners rather than take an active part myself.
