With studies in Visual Arts, History of Art, Modern and Contemporary Latin American Poetry, Continental Philosophy, Performance Art, Laws, Andean Music, Latin American Films (60's, 70's, 80's) and Tarot of Marseille (since 1994 till now). Guerra has been teacher of Art at several Universities in Chile between 1999-2008, as well as cultural adviser for Chilean Governmental Institutions between 2002-2007 (CONACE, Matucana 100 Cultural Center).
Luis Guerra has been awarded by: DIVA 2009, The Danish International Art Council; The Canada Council for the Arts 2009 International Program; Municipality of Bergen, Norway (through Flaggfabrikken Center of Photography and Arts International Residency Program 2008), DIRAC 2008 and 2003 by Ministry of Foreign Affairs-Government of Chile, FONDART 2002 Ministry of Culture-Government of Chile. Also, he has been guest artist for International Guest Artist Studio, Hamburg City, Germany; International Residency Program at Flaggfabriken Photography and Image Center, Bergen, Norway; International Residency Program at Darling Foundry, Montreal, Canada; International Residency Program Arhus City, Denmark.
Since 1998 he has exhibited his work in Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Canada, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Holland, Norway, Belgium, New Zealand and China. His work has also been exhibited at ArteBA 2008 (Buenos Aires Art Fair); Liste Young Art Fair, Basel 2008; CIGE, Beijing, China, 2008.
