Since 1977 I am a self-taught artist making fantasy sculptures. Each sculpture is unique and seems to have a primitive surrealistic quality. They are mostly made of glazed clay and their size is around 30-60 cm.
Some of my inspiration certainly comes from reading Piers Antony's Xanth novels and of course Tolkien.
Even some comic strips by for instance Franquin and Will must have influenced me,because I sometimes have the impression making comic strips creatures in 3D.
I seem to have some sort of bizarre talent, medieval or Aztec type according to some.
It is a privilege to do something that absorbs all your attention. It is a happy feeling to concentrate on that tiny little moment that represents the present.
Hopefully looking at them will make you feel good and who knows even make you smile.
That would be my reward.
