My pieces are usually renderings of revelations that have come to me during the experiences of my life. I like to use colour, sometimes to the point that I abuse it, to send the message that I’m attempting to portray in an image and evoke a desired response in the viewer. These revelations tend to come out of my gaining a greater understanding of self that I believe everyone goes through so my paintings, though personal, are always relatable.
My belonging to the female orientation shows through in my art. I believe that the female body is one of the most beautiful things that nature has granted to mankind and I love to manipulate its form.
Also, I’m quite fond of using multiple mediums, particularly to create texture, therefore the pieces often take on a 3D aspect and I don’t only make paintings. I like to dapple in clay and have fun with wire. More recently I’ve delved into jewelry-making, tie-dye and batik. I hope to further my studies in the area of textiles and build a career in fashion and costume design.
