Vector studies based on Van Eyck's painting of the 15th century, "Portrait of a man in a turban". First study was done with and without a background. As the artwork progressed through the series, generative brushes, patterns and transparencies built up the composition. The color palette was based on the 15th century period with a personnal tweak. Vector artwork series of 13 pieces. Original size 90x120cm.
Riding clouds. Transparencies, shapes and colors in these compositions. I picked some of the brushes and gathered them into clusters: clouds. Blue is still the predominant color in these stages. The horizon is present as to communicate the place to be to the compositions. I am piloting clouds.
Vector art based on Johannes Vermeer The Girl with a Pearl Earring, c.1665. This is the basic artwork on a white background.
'Viewed from the back' is a series of vector studies based on people, objects or landscapes, as the title says, viewed from the back. Original work was a 90x120cm vector based artwork with generative brushes, patterns and transparencies. Character research and image capture done in the streets of São Paulo.
Studies for a a refreshing mood. Using the popular soft drink universe as a theme. Vector art. Various sizes. Done most of this work back in 2007. Updated the compositions, brought back some elements from the originals. I am still working on new comps. Enjoy.
Studies for organic shapes. I wanted more color and tyextures than in prevoius projects. Lighting is the most difficult part of the 3D rendering process. All shapes were previously created in vector. Later I started drawing them free hand directly into the 3D software. The textures were original vector compositions then bitmapped. 3D softwares and vector based textures.
These are portraits based on unsollicited messages, spams, received by email. I enhanced some words or whole phrases in the message and worked the typography for the . You'll find the whole text of the spam in the artwork. This is a personnal project, started in 2008, that have never been printed before. The spam was the trigger to creating the series and by portraiting the sender, I felt, was a good way to go.
This is the first set of colored compositions on a white background. Textured 3D shapes are brought into a soup of brushes, textures and patterns under a color palette. Recognizable elements are used very discreetly just to pull in the sight. I tried to maintain a constant flow of shapes in balance before the "that's it" feeling kicked in.
Lady with an ermine Is a vector generated study based on Da Vinci's painting of the 15th century. Under the limitations imposed by the vector sofware capabilities and my limited skills the first artwork tries to be faithful to the original. As the basic artwork is finished it is time for a few tweaks with brushes, patterns, transparencies and all possible elements that will help build the composition. Chance plays an important role in the choice of the elements and keeping a balanced composition. I also tried to keep a close likeness to the color palette of the 16th century. In total 6 pieces were produced including the basic vector artwork.
