Twice Shy - Digital mixed media portrait created from a self portrait by the one-and-only Jessica Truscott.

Although I like vampire fiction and mythology, I tend to (usually) avoid them as art subjects. Popular culture has evolved them into beings that are far too flamboyant and social for my taste. I think of them as beautiful, predatory, solitary and damaged beyond hope. Those traits are where I find the aesthetic attraction. Why am I talking about vampires? This isn't a vampire. Is it?
