Augstina Woodgate and her soft toys

Ever wondered where all those plushy animals go if they are no longer needed in children’s rooms? Some may go to the heaven of stuffed animals, who knows – and some are processed into the soft rugs made by Augustina Woodgate.

Yes, all those tiny colourful parts you see in her rugs formerly were sweetly looking teddybears, apes or ducks enthusiastically cuddled by children. In their second life they are now trampled upon by shoes or bare feet. It is a weird kind of art in reference to the huge traditional rug used in Eastern Cultures.
