Interview with Wilson from Wiissa
“We’re just two teenage kids from a small island”, it is said on the website of Wilson and Vanessa aka. Wiissa. When they’re not sitting on the school bench, they spend their time taking impressive and vivid photographies. We asked them to talk to us about their pictures – and got Wilson to answer our questions.

Why and when did you start making art?
I started taking pictures about 2 years ago when my parents got me my first camera for Christmas. After that I just made it my goal to get better and challenge myself, and fell in love with it.
What kind of art do you make?
Photography, but also little short films of my travels.
Where do you draw your inspiration from?
I watch a lot of movies and spend way too much time on flickr, I think that’s where a big chunk of my inspiration comes from.
What does your usual workday look like?
I’m still in school so I don’t really have a workday yet, most of my photographs come from everyday events and things.
How do you spend a perfect sunday?
Living in Miami, the beach is almost always the Sunday thing, especially during the summer time!
What is your favourite taste of chocolate?
Nutella, especially smothered on my mom’s homemade crepes.
Show me your favourite artwork (from your own collection or another artist)
Any of the pictures from Tim Barber’s MUSE shoot.
Whom should we interview next?
Maddie Joyce
If you could have coffee with a famous artist – dead or alive – whom would you choose?
Wes Anderson, I’m a huge fan of his movies.
What is your philosophy of life?
I just try to be as nice as I can and not take life too seriously.
Thank you, Wilson!
