Markus Åkesson
Moody and slightly surreal are the paintings from Swedish artist Markus Åkesson. Åkesson’s works touch on the quiet, interior relationship we have with death. But he doesn’t present death as scary or violent, but as a peaceful, calm and even serene phenomenon. His paintings show moments of stillness, but they also have a great sense of darkness and mystery about them.
