The Embroidered Secrets by Maurizio Anzeri
Maurizio Anzeri is well-known for his distinctive style of embroidering directly onto vintage photographs and oil paintings blending the past with future. Using thread in different ways through geometric patterns, he somehow visualizes the subject’s thoughts in the image.
Maurizio Anzeri’s works alongside works by John Bock, Dr. Lakra, Lothar Hempel, Jamie Isenstein, Alan Reid, Markus Schinwald, John Stezaker, Sue Tompkins, Ryan Trecartin, Vedovamazzei, Francesco Vezzoli, Benny Chirco and Vedovamazzei are at the moment on view at A Palazzo Gallery in Brescia, Italy, for the exhibition “MakeUp”.
