The River Thames as it flows through Reading, the county town of Berkshire, England. This is the scene just downstream from Caversham Bridge (in the background) linking the town centre of Reading with Caversham on the north bank. Houses, flats, offices and a few restaurants line the riverbanks here. The Thames was once the main route into Reading - particularly in medieval times when the large and powerful Reading Abbey was the centre of life and commerce. Now it's busy with leisure craft.
