Bhutan, Trongsa District, Chendebji Chorten. Lama Shida, as a way of suppressing local demons, built this Nepalese style Stupa, similar to Boudinath in Kathmandu, in the early 18th Century. The long mani wall of stones is particularly fine, decorated with bas-relief slate images of the Thirty-Five Confession Buddhas. Vertical prayer flags surround the Chorten
