„Cyclist and Billingham Cooling Towers, Stockton-on-Tees“

from the gallery of Robert Brook

Two cooling towers of the Billingham Manufacturing Complex, which shortly after opening was an inspiration for Aldous Huxley's 'Brave New World', and during WW2 was one of the sites where the top secret 'Tube Alloys' programme was conducted - which was later subsumed into the Manhattan Project.
