A loving and proud father, holding his child carefully but firm in his strong arms, ready to protect it with his might and power. Yearning to raise, educate and love his child and to see it once as grown son/daughter, firm in his/her trust to his/her father. A father. Loving and protecting. And hoping to be loved back in return from his child.
An image I had in mind while thinking about what we mean to God.

Ein starker, stolzer Vater, der sein Kind sicher in Armen hält und bereit ist, es mit seinem Leben zu verteidigen. Er freut sich darauf, sein Kind zu erziehen, heranwachsen zu sehen und zu lieben. Und hofft, dass seine Liebe erwiedert wird.
Das Bild kam mir in den Sinn, als ich über die Beziehung zwischen Gott und uns nachdachte.
