"Strings" Comic art prints and posters by Alma Lee

Description:

In the world of felines, it is a widely held belief, that a guilty verdict is always accompanied with sentence of "time served." When caught in the act, they render a sweet innocent expression; then plead "guilty, yet entitled". "Strings" evolved after catching my cat "Tater" gleefully setting up camp in my stash of art supplies. I believe the ball of yarn was the target, but the aerial debris was the bonus. I was mad, but as is par the course, it passed quickly! I used subtle color contrast to illustrate the fine line between innocent and guilty and utilized contemporary cubism to add a cause and effect feel, and bring some connective order to all the chaos.

Note: The colored pencil is applied layer upon layer to build up deep, vibrant color saturation an effect similar to the renaissance glazing techniques used by the old masters.
