Sixth sense? No, fifth taste! Sour, sweet, salty, and bitter... First isolated by Japanese scientists and beloved by gourmands the world over, all cultures and cuisines have foods rich in umami. It can manifest in any form: Bacon, cheese, squid, fish, chinese cabbage, mushrooms, green tea, truffles... This illustration celebrates thirty-two famously savoury foods.

Inspired by Art Nouveau and Ukiyo-e, two of my greatest loves. A food illustration with informational and aesthetic values.
