Part of my "The joys of waiting for the ferry" collection, shot in Istanbul, October 2011.
When we arrived at the ferry dock in Hasköy after our delicious streetfood lunch, there was still no ferry in sight.
Time for me to potter around and take more pictures: that bit of rusty metal seems like a futile attempt to defend the crumbling concrete. So what do other people do when waiting for the ferry? You only have to look down at this crumbling but brightly-painted concrete to see the evidence: they eat sunflower pips, of course, and smoke a cigarette!
