Pia Jensen

I am a physics student from the University of Copenhagen, with a passion for photography. I especially work with macro photography, but also experiment with a wide range of other techniques.

I love colors, and enjoy working with strong contrasts. I have several of my own photos around my apartment at home, and love to start a new day with looking at strong colors - it makes me happy.

I've always loved blackberries, so when I found these in the supermarket, still with the flowers attached and everything, I simply couldn't stay away from them. I love the bokeh I managed to get in this photo.

These wonderfully red rose buds were in my parent's garden when I was home for the Christmas holidays. It had been snowing all night, and in the morning a small amount of powder snow had positioned itself on the buds - I simply couldn't stop myself from taking a photo.

This beautiful landscape is the side of one of the roads in the nice new parts of Copenhagen, the Ørestad part of city. I especially love all the channels that have been created, with curving borders and trees around them. Especially this small area caught my attention, with the nice and warm autumn colors from the trees giving a wonderful contrast to the cold colors of the water and building.

I stumbled upon these grass stairs in a park in a new area of Copenhagen - the Ørestad part of town. New sky scrapers are popping up there monthly, and some very nice parks have also been created. In one of these, small steps like these are made on man-made hills with grass. I couldn't help but love the nice contrast between the white cement tiles and the lush green grass.

These strong purple allium flowers really caught my attention - all those tiny purple stars building up a full flower in bloom.

I followed this lady-bug for quite some time, where it moved around on a fern. For some reason, it felt like walking out on one of the outer leaves on the fern, where it suddenly stood with the dilemma of falling down if it continued forward. It did, right after this photo was taken, fall down! I like how it almost looks like it has started falling already.

This small lady-bug almost looked like it was sleeping - just sitting there on a tiny leaf in a bush. I like the almost purple color of the branch, as a nice contrast to the green colors of the rest of the image, apart from the bright red lady-bug. I adore those tiny leaves, they fit so well with the small insect.

I liked how this small lady-bug almost tried to hide from me in this pretty little nettle flower. I think that the white colors of the small flowers stand in a nice contrast to all the green of both the leaves and the background, and the small red color added by the lady-bug only makes it better.

These beautiful magnolia trees bloom every spring at my university. They are situated in a small yard with some very old and beautiful buildings around them. The flowers fill up the trees with white, pink and purple for a couple of weeks, and the smell is amazing! I always love going there during those few days.

This beautiful tulip-like flower is actually some kind of perennial. I found it in the Botanical Garden of Copenhagen, Denmark. A large part of a pine forest area had the whole forest floor full of these beautiful small bell-like flowers. They looked so delicate.

These forget-me-not flowers were everywhere in a small forest-like part of a park near where I live. Every spring it looks like this - a sea of tiny blue flowers with small pink buds. I love just walking around in them early in the morning, when no one else is there, it's really tranquil.

These large red gerberas were in a bouquet I got from my mom (yeah, I know), along with red roses and other pretty things. I love the combination of red and black, and simply had to try it out with the flowers. I think it turned out really well, and all those petals are in a beautiful small chaos.

These beautiful red glass dices really made my head spin. I couldn't help myself but buy some of them and take pictures of them. I really like how this one turned out, with some wonderful reflections on a pane of glass. They make me want to play games with my friends!
