When I saw Neo Rauchs Sucher (searcher) in Baden Baden I could understand, that’s its one of his most importend paintings – maybe his “key-painting”. I decided to paint such a key-painting – for me. Could only be a searcher, which is really clever, but searching - while painting - at the wrong place...

Als ich Neo Rauchs Sucher in Baden Baden sah konnte ich nachvollziehen, dass es sich um eine Schlüsselbild seiner Arbeit als Maler handelte. Auch ich wollte ein solches Schlüsselbild malen - für mich als Maler. Es konnte sich nur um jemanden handeln, der malerisch trotz aller Schlauheit an der falschen Stelle sucht...
