This is a male Harris Hawk also known as the bay winged or dusky Hawk. It's a medium to large bird of prey which breeds from the southwestern United States to Chile and central Argentina. It is the only member of the genus Parabuteo. It was John James Audubon that gave this bird its English name in honor of his ornithological friend and financial supporter,Edward Harris.
