Diese äußerst stabile etwa 2800 Jahre alte Grundmauer ist die bauliche Basis auf der der Apollontempel im Orakel von Delphi errichtet wurde. Die unregelmäßigen großen Steine sind passgenau zusammen gefügt. In die Ritzen zwischen den Steinen passt kaum eine Messerspitze. Das Orakel von Delphi war seit dem 8. Jh. v. Chr. bis 391 n. Chr. eine Pilger- und Prophezeihungssstätte des antiken Griechenlands und die wichtigste Kultstätte der Griechen. Sie galt sogar als der Nabel (Mittelpunkt) der Welt.
Lage: Hang des Parnass bei der Stadt Delphi.
