„ Cottage By The Kennet “

from the gallery of Ian Lewis
Description:

A white painted cottage sitting by the Kennet and Avon Canal near Woolhampton in West Berkshire. The K&A which is 87 miles long was constructed to link Bristol with the River Thames at Reading giving a direct link to London. However, with the arrival of Brunel's Great Western Railway which runs next to the canal at this point, it gradually fell into disuse, many stretches becoming un-navigable. The canal was reopened for boat traffic in 1990.
