J.R.R. Tolkien verbrachte viele Sommer in Hurst Green. Dort gibt es einen Rundwanderweg, genannt Tolkien Trail. Auf dem kommt man an dieser, leider nicht mehr heilen Brücke über den River Hoder vorbei. Sie soll das Vorbild für die Brandywine Brücke in "Der kleinen Hobbit" sein. Hurst Green liegt im Ribble Valley in Lancashire.
