Der Augentrost (Euphrasia) ist wie der Name schon vermuten lässt eine alte Heilpflanze der Augenheilkunde. Eine weiterer Name ist Milchdieb, dieser kommt von den Saugwurzeln des Augentrost die den Nachbarpflanzen die Nährstoffe entziehen dadurch bringen die Wiesen weniger Futter für die Kühe, welche darauf hin die Milchproduktion reduzieren.
