The concept driving the design of "Forged Identity" was based on a number of things. Primarily, the piece visually suggests that identity of individuals and the city or the general population is lost. There is a blurring of individual identity and everything else, of the true 'self' and the 'community'. This single graphic creates a unity in this conflict and suggests that the middle area of blending is unclear, undocumented and unknown. In another reading, one might see it as how tied a person is to where they live almost to the point where they start to fuze. This dichotomy makes the piece very charged.
