Fossgate Books on Fossgate in York, England.

Fossgate was part of the Roman’s south easterly route from their fortress. Named after the River Foss it was made a proper street in the Viking era when a wooden bridge was built over the river connecting Fossgate to the new street of Walmgate and runs from Pavement down to Foss Bridge.
