Der Hohwald in der Oberlausitz ist ein ausgedehntes Waldgebiet.
Er befindet sich in Sachsen und auch im Nachbarland Tschechien.
Geprägt ist er durch finsteren Fichtenwald. Durch Trockenheit kam der Borkenkäferbefall und es konnte wieder Licht auf den Waldboden fallen.
Hier aber blieben die meisten Fichtenbäume vom Käferbefall verschont.
