„ME262“

from the gallery of Dan Richards
Description:

This was the first successful jet ever built. Messerschmitt's Me 262, caused a lot of commotion during the end of the European theater, but came in to late to make any real difference. Due to many reasons, and misconceptions, that delayed this aircraft, its first functional flight was in 1943, two years after the first version was built. It went into production towards the end of the year, and was flying in Augest of 1944. This is a two seater, ME 262B-1a
Shot at the Naval Air Museum, Pensacola, Florida. If you are arond there, this is a fantastic place to visit.
