An unladen pack mule takes a well earned rest in the middle of the trekking path of the Annapurna Circuit in Nepal. Several more mules, with harnesses still attached, apporoach from behind. A mule is the offspring of a male donkey and a female horse, and they are commonly used to transport goods in this Himalayan region.
