Just back from a trip to Sicily where I spent 2 weeks visiting and painting different places from that wonderful island. The first thing which impressed and terrified me was not the Mafia... but the traffic! Everybody who has been to Sicily with a car knows what I mean. In the in-flight magazine I had read that the traffic in Palermo could be a blood bath... well, we were not 2 minutes on the highway from the airport to Palermo when we were stuck in an endless queue: a car was upside down on the side of the road... very welcoming and promising!
This funny painting here is inspired by little figurines I saw in a shop window in Taormina.
